Rock Town and Pettijohns cave trip
Published September 12th, 2004 in OutdoorsWent to Pigeon Mountain today with some friends (Heather, Montie, Jesse Malin, Mike Freeland, and Stoney and Linnea Stonecypher) today. It was a lovely day. After church we went up to Rock Town and did some bouldering. It was tres fun and we enjoyed the Stonecyphers, who we met today. When we were done climbing, we drove to the bottom of the mountain (during which drive, I damaged my bumper—ugh) to do some caving in Pettijohns Cave (aka Pettyjohn or Pettyjohns). Mike and Linnea had to leave after about 15 minutes, but the rest of us wallowed about for ~3 hours. It was a great time and I am tired. G’night.
I have a map of pettijohns cave from a flyer, I live in walker county georgia where abouts is the cave? are there any online maps for speleological areas in georgia?
Dustin:
I’d check with your local NSS chapter (or “grotto”). You can find them at the NSS website.
