2004 Presidential Election Links
Published October 27th, 2004 in Election 2004There’s an election coming; you may have heard about it. I’ve heard that some Americans are undecided still. In hopes of helping those people and to inform the rest of us I have compiled the following links.
- First you should spend some time getting to know the candidates. The Wikipedia entries are good:
Spend some time looking around, the wikipedia contains a lot of information.
- Just for kicks, check out the official sites:
- Next, spend some time reading about the candidates’ stances on important issues. OnTheIssues.org has great summaries. Make sure to read the information in the ‘background on’ links, it’s very informative.
- Once you have a good grasp on the issues and the candidates’ views, take the PresidencyMatch-2004 quiz. Click the questions for more information—it is interesting and helpful. The quiz will match you with a candidate based on your answers. You may be surprised. It is certainly worth spending some time to think over each question and see the results.
By now you have probably picked a candidate and want to keep a close eye on the election. Here are some links to help:
- Electoral-vote.com is a wonderful resource. Go there.
- PBS’ Interactive Electoral College Map is fun and educational—what more could you want? Looking at the results of previous elections is particularly interesting.
- The political section of CNN is good for current election news.
I hope this has helped. If you remain undecided, then for the love of all that is pure and holy, vote Kerry. But seriously, no matter who you are voting for, go vote.
Your voter registration card came in the mail yesterday and is at the house.
