For-fun redesign of whitehouse.gov. Nice design, nice write up, good idea.

A list of 102 movies you must see to be film literate. Compiled by Jim Emerson. I've got some work to do.

Random videos

Some videos I’ve been waiting to go live on google video finally have. Here they are, in no particular order:
Montie skiing down a hill while we were cross-country skiing in NC:

Me falling off while snow tubing (this one cracks me up):

Ryan tubing:

Random redneck on the ropeswing at Suck Creek. Sadly, I didn’t […]

This shows up on the first page of Google results for "remove duct tape adhesive". I didn't realize this was a problem. Creepy.

Nothing groundbreaking here, but the specific numbers and trends are interesting.

Free solo climbing over water in Thailand. Me like.

1) Open the largest version of the image that will fit on your screen. 2) Sit back about 3 feet from your monitor. 3) Cross eyes slightly* and wait for images to combine. 4) Enjoy the 3D goodness. * - Some images are parallel, not cross-eyed, good luck

Opposition Effect on Flickr

I am intrigued by kite aerial photography, so when I found a KAPer on flickr, I was excited. In this particular photo, you can see what is called the opposition effect. Read about it in the 2nd comment. New to me; very interesting.

Who and whom

Usage of 'who' and 'whom' broken down case by case. Don't miss the rules at the bottom of the page. I think I've finally got this.

New toys

A couple days ago, I received two items that I purchased on eBay that will enable me to create some new types of content for this website. I’m excited about the possibilities.
First, I got a helmet cam. I hope to use it for mountain biking, and when the season comes around again, cross-country skiing, and […]

Sonos Digital Music System

As many have said, Sonos could do for home audio what the iPod did for portable music. I have dreamt of a system just like this, and while I knew the technology existed, I thought the realization was far away. I lust for one. Check it out.
